🧠 Mental Health Awareness & Community Connection

Our first Mind of a Monarch event brought together over 20 members of the community for an evening of conversation, connection, and shared growth.

With strong support from attendees, we were able to begin building a foundation for future events and continued community impact.

This event marked the official beginning of Monarch Season.

Bartenders Brawl × Mind of a Monarch

Official Nonprofit Partnership | August 30, 2026

756 people. $1,814 raised. 4 new volunteers. One community showing up for its own.

This year's Bartenders Brawl represented a major milestone for Mind of a Monarch as we stepped into our first large-scale public partnership as the official nonprofit partner of Bartenders Brawl and Midwest Fight League.

But this partnership was never just about putting two logos next to each other.

Mind of a Monarch was founded in part to create honest conversations about mental health within the hospitality and service industries. Bartenders Brawl gave us an opportunity to bring that conversation directly to the community we were created to serve.

And that community showed up.

The Impact

Bartenders Brawl welcomed 756 attendees, including 557 general admission tickets that directly supported Mind of a Monarch through a $2 contribution from every GA ticket sold.

That generated $1,114 for MOAM through ticket sales alone.

Together with proceeds from the night's 50/50 raffle and limited-edition MFL × MOAM collaboration shirts, the event raised a confirmed:

$1,814 for Mind of a Monarch

Seven collaboration shirts found new homes through $30 donations, and four people took another important step by signing up to volunteer with MOAM.

But some of the night's impact can't be measured in dollars.

Mental Health Got the Microphone

Between bouts, the music stopped.

For a few minutes, the ring wasn't being used to announce another fight. It became a place to talk openly about mental health.

In front of hundreds of hospitality and service-industry workers, Mind of a Monarch was given the microphone to talk about why this organization exists and why taking care of one another matters.

Then something simple happened.

People listened.

They donated. They volunteered. They supported one another. And then the fights continued.

That moment represented exactly what MOAM hopes to accomplish: we don't always need to ask people to enter unfamiliar spaces to talk about mental health.

Sometimes we need to bring the conversation to where our community already is.

In the Press

The partnership also received coverage from The Kansas City Stare, which recognized Mind of a Monarch as Bartenders Brawl's official nonprofit partner and explored the relationship between hospitality culture, community, and mental health.

The coverage documented MOAM's in-ring address and highlighted the organization's roots within the hospitality industry.

For a young nonprofit, that recognition means a great deal—not simply because our name appeared in print, but because the reason behind this partnership was understood.

More Than One Night

To Midwest Fight League, Bartenders Brawl ownership, the fighters, sponsors, volunteers, everyone who purchased a ticket or collaboration shirt, everyone who participated in the raffle, and all 756 people who helped fill the venue:

Thank you.

You helped prove that competition and compassion can occupy the same ring.

And to the four people who signed up to continue this journey with us:

Welcome to Monarch Season.

This was our first major public partnership.

It won't be our last.

One conversation. One migration. One person at a time.
