Our Mission
Mind of a Monarch exists to create a supportive community that encourages open discussion, reduces stigma, and improves access to mental wellness tools and resources.
The mission is to raise awareness about mental health and promote community development by providing educational events, speaker series, and networking opportunities with local leaders and business owners.
Founder Story
Mind of a Monarch was founded by Jacob Scott, a Kansas City native with a background in hospitality and community-centered leadership. After years of seeing how many people in high-stress industries struggle quietly, he set out to build something that brings people together—through honest conversation, shared experience, and growth-driven community support.

What We Do
We believe mental health matters just as much as physical health—and when people feel supported, communities thrive.
Our mission is to raise awareness about mental health and promote community development by providing educational events, speaker series, and networking opportunities
with local leaders and business owners.
With that said, our goal is to bring like-minded individuals together to discuss a wide range of topics—from their personal stories and how they got to where they are, to content that helps others understand their own potential, whether personal or professional. We also hope these individuals can help shape ideas for future community events.
Since the driving force behind this nonprofit is to give back to the community and support mental health research and development, the long-term vision focuses on community outreach. Our goal is to host engaging community events where all proceeds go to Children’s Mercy and other charities. The focus won’t always be mental health—you, the community, will help decide where donations go.
As Mind of a Monarch grows, the next step is to partner with incredible Kansas City institutions like the Negro Leagues Museum, the WWI Museum, the Nelson-Atkins, the Jazz District, and other historic locations—either as event venues or as partners with a shared charitable cause.
